Can't register my MAC address with the provider
Hello. I purchased a new modem at the beginning of the year. I activated it on the NETGEAR website and then on Xfinity without any problems. I used it for 1-2 weeks and was just happy. Then it started... I lost connection about every hour. I didn't have time for this and I decided to put my old modem temporarily (I had to activate it on Xfinity). Another month or two passed and I decided to deal with my AX6000 WiFi Cable Modem Router (CAX80) but this time I couldn't register from my provider's app. I talked with several assistants for a couple of days, spent hours, but they couldn't help me, all the instructions were to disconnect the cables and reboot... Then I tried to contact NETGEAR support who changed my firmware and couldn't do anything else.
Now I have Firmware Version V5.1.1.8 and I noticed that on my modem control panel in the ADVANCED ---> ADVANCED Home ---> Cable Information tab, my MAC address doesn't match the label on my modem and CM Certificate Not Installed. Can anyone tell me if this is supposed to be or can I do something about it?

one is modem side and the other router side. its normal
Have you changed modems quite a bit with xfinity?
I test quite a few different modems and about every 5-10, I have to call in to xfinity and have a rep remove the ones registered to the account before I can use the app again. its a PITA. And most reps don't know what you're talking about.
So you might have to try a time or two.
Try that before trying the auto-activation.
