CAX30 Cable Firmware Update 1.4.10
On https://kb.netgear.com/000036375/What-is-the-latest-firmware-version-of-my-NETGEAR-cable-modem-or-modem-router, it says that "NETGEAR provides your ISP with the latest firmware and your ISP updates your firmware. If your firmware is out of date, contact your Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance." My CAX30 has cable firmware v. 1.4.09 and the above page says the current version is 1.4.10. I understand that I can't do a cable firmware update. Only the ISP can. I've been in touch with the ISP and they have no idea what I'm talking about. My ISP is Optimum. Has anyone had any success in getting Optimum to update the cable firmware? Is there any way to tell whether Netgear has actually provided Optimum with the latest cable firmware? I've updated the modem/router firmware to the current version 2.2.4.2.

ISP ARE responsible for pushing FW on the modem side of the CAX series. NG has FW that users can update for the router portion of the CAX series.
NG develops and sends ISP the FW for the mode side. It's up to the ISP to test and certify this FW then push it to users modems. Some ISP may or may not do this. Up to the ISP.
Might ask the escalated support about modem side FW.
If your not experiencing problems then you'll be find to leave it.

ISP's are always great about passing the blame or "we don't know". Its part of the docsis spec that the modem side firmware is approved/sent by the ISP. the manufacturer only submits it to the ISP. Sadly, it takes $ to certify firmware before ISP's will push it out to devices so it happens rarely with 3rd party devices.
