CAX30 support a Saga!

A week ago  my local Xfinity stopped supporting my CAX30 or so I thought.

they insisted that the CAX30 was no longer compliant, this was really perfect timing, as my wife a Dr. uses Video conferencing at home, we are also in a poor reception area for cell phone so I have a T-Mobile booster   linked to my network.

NetGear asked the usual questions... have I turned it on? Is it plugged in etc.

I explained that I had and that my background was electronics (MSc Camb.) All this was presented to me in a dialect of English that I wasn't quite understanding though the Tec. said his name was Josh!

Having waded through countless questions and given countless answers to my best degree.

I was told to factory reset and reinitialize with an older version of there software. this is easier said than done as the moment I pull the plug on the modem after a factory reset it will not connect to Xfinity ( also my cell phone is now dead)

So digging through my old "stuff" i found an old cable modem and a switch so at least i could now get on line ( < 100MPS) I contacted support again   (see previous" Have I turned it on etc.")

After a week of trying I managed to speak to a support person who 1 understood me

2 I could understand Him 3 Acknowledged that I had a problem and a RTM was placed.

The new and "improved Modem arrives on Monday, so think of me over the weekend and have a beer or two, I know that I  will.

One final addition,  one of the support Tec`s sent me an email thanking me for buying

METGEAR perhaps this was my problem I was dealing with the wrong company all the time.........
