CAX80- Login/firmware/smartconnect
To whom this may concern:
I have a few issues that I could use assistance with.
- I wanted to login in to my router...I got past the UN/PW page, then, entered my serial number. I got to the page that asked for my answers to my sercurity questions: Nothing worked? How do I get around this?
- I want to update my firmware? How?
- How do I disable smarconnect? I have a few things in my house that will only connect to the 2.4ghz band, and not the 5ghz?
Any help is appreciated!
Thank you,
Duane

Factory reset the gatway and setup from scratch using a ethernet PC and web browser:

Press the reset button in back for 15 seconds then release.
Access the setup web page at 192.168.1.1

One the Gateways web page, you can disable Smart Connect under Basic/Wireles Settings. There will be a check box to uncheck.

Let us now how it goes.

I have a few devices (robot vacuum and weather station) that say that I must only connect to a 2.4ghz band. They are not compatible with 5ghz? Do you think it would make sense to set up two different wifi conections then? One at 2.4 ghz and one at 5 ghz?
Thank you,

Okay...I attempted the factory reset. After going to 192.168.1.1, I was not able to log in still...I went to the "reset password" link...it is still asking for two security answers that are saying are incorrect when I enter the answer (and I have no idea how they could be wrong.). Do you know of a way to get around the security questions page?
Thank you,Duane

Did you press the reset button for 15 seconds then release, then give about 2 minutes before going to 192.168.1.1? This should get you to the setup wizard screen. Not a password reset screen.
