CAX80 Drops VPN connections
About 6 months ago I purchased a CAX80 to act as my gateway/router for Comcast Internet. I have several devices working on the router without issue but my work VPN connection drops often. I have a very good download and upload speed, about 500 down and 20 up. This was not an issue with my old Nighthawk 7000 AC1900.
I am connecting to VPN via CISCO IPSec with all the latest firmware, drivers, and software on both the PC and Nighthawk. I can't recall all of the router settings I have made in order to correct the issue, but I eventually returned it to factory settings and only disabled guest networks. For some time I did connect all other devices to guest but that did not help.
Any idea on why only my work issued laptop seems to have problems with VPN?
I have already confirmed the recommendations below:
Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. Be sure the ISP provisions the modem correctly.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
Be sure to power OFF the modem for 1 minute then back ON.

Are you connecting your work computer to the CAX80 via Wi-Fi or via Ethernet cable?

Hi, thank you for your reply.
I am connected via WIFi. No other devices in the house drop connections. The VPN I use is Cisco IPSec with split-tunnel for Teams traffic and Microsoft updates. I have offloaded IpSec logs to the IT team but they didn't find anything outstanding.
We used to have an issue with Alexa Devices dropping but that seemed to be corrected with a Nighthawk firmware update.

I presume you connect to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. On your home Wi-Fi, do you have configured separate SSIDs for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands?
Do you have a way to connect your work computer to your CAX80 via Ethernet cable? Might be worth a try for testing to eliminate the Wi-Fi connection as a problem.
