CAX80 Router/Modem

Greetings, I am not able to add a device to my router/modem that I was using successfully for a few years (Wink2 Hub).

While in the attached devices location and then choosing access control (View list of allowed devices not currently connected to the network) when I try to add it to my attached devices I get an error message (Error: Duplicate Mac Address. Please enter another one.) Will not allow. The MAC address is correct. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Lou F.

I would avoid putting it in the Access Control section. This device should not need any access control configurations.

Does the device appear in the Connected Devices section of the modems web page when it's ethernet connected to the back of the modem?

Compare MAC addresses with any other devices or listings already seen in the Connected devices list.

What FW version is loaded on the CAX80.

      Hi FURRYe38,

No, It does not appear in the Connected Devices section and no Ethernet wire as I have been using it in wireless mode for a while. The MAC address is not used by any other devices.

I thought by adding the device in the Access Control section it would also show up in connected devices (I realize now it doesn't work that way). The question is "How do I add it the Connected Devices section"?

      Firmware Version V5.1.1.

      Thanks for your reply.

Ok, something to try is connecting this devices to the back of the modem via ethernet to see if it appears in the connected devices list. Does it get internet services when ethernet connected?

Have you powered OFF the modem for 1 minute then back ON and check for it's connection?

Is Smart Connect enabled for wifi or disabled?

What Wi-Fi channels are you using on the modem for 2.4 and 5Ghz?
