single level, usual Sheetrock with crappy insulation in between rooms.
perhaps hard-wiring an extender is a better option, i do have a long CAT6 i can use. do i need to do anything special to convert the extender from “extending” mode and into AP?
You'll have to rerun setup or the setup wizard and use "access point mode' during setup and not extender.
