Nov 30, 2015change MAC address on N450
I added to a year+ old post but it looks like it didn't update, so I apologize if this is double posted somehow. Can you manually change the MAC on this device? I could with my very old router, b...

Nov 30, 2015Sorry, I don't know what that means.
In the Vonage router, I go in to the settings, change the MAC. Unplug. Replug and the ISP generates a new IP.
Can I do that with this router? If not, do you have a product that can?
Secondly..... If I use the new router with the old set up, why do I get dial tone in Vonage but no network connectivity?

No, I am not aware of Cable gateways doing it. even if they have an option it does not work on an ISP network properly.
can you please tell me how you are trying to connect the device? that will help me to answer questions.
N450 is a router with NAT functionality, so you should be able to connect multiple device behind it unless you switched to Bridge mode.
Is this this way?
N450 ---- port-1 ----> PC
------port-2 -----> Vonage

correct set up.
All I need to know is if you can change MAC address with this product or you make a product that can.
If I set up the old way using your product N450 ---- vonage and computer ---- vonage port 1
I can NOT get internet connectivity. It's like your device blocks it.
I need to be able to either:
1) change MAC with N450
2) Use N450 in the configuration described above to get an Internet connection
I assure you, I could easily change the MAC on Vonage which would assign a new random IP.

Hi,
I've been searching the forums on how to set the N450 router/modem to bridge mode to use it as a modem only. I can't find it anywhere in the settings. Can you direct to directions on how to do this or fill me in? Thanks.

Hello bigbruise
This modem does not have that option all you can do is hide the SSID on the wireless if you dont want that displayed.
