I would like to setup a VPN connection through PIA on my Netgear router (Model listed as C7000-100NAS), but I think it's the same or a version of the AC1900 Netgear Nighthawk. All the documents I see, instruct you to go to onto the Netgear Genie console and enable the VPN connection under Advanced, Advanced Settings, VPN. I don't have a VPN option under advanced settings. I bought the router from Amazon, so not through ISP (which is TWC), but not sure if they can disable features or something. Very confused. Have anyone else come across this?30KViews4likes16CommentsCG3000v2 Port forwarding Issue
Hi, I've got a CG3000V2 from Optus around a year ago running firmware 2.07.05. I have issues getting port forwading to stay within the configuration. Scenario is as follow: Port forwading is setup Port forwarding works Router is rebooted due to hanging or internet disconnection Port forwarding no longer works Check port forwarding config in router. Configuration is still present. Remove port forwading and re-apply configuration Port forwading works. Repeat from 3 Any ideas on what might be causing this? Looks like a firmware bug.6.6KViews0likes7CommentsN450 with Time Warner Cable
I was told by Time Warner Cable that this modem is supported by them. After purchase, however, they said they will not actually touch the router, but rely on me (the owner) to make any changes (firmware, troubleshooting, DNS, etc). When I ask Netgear, I am told that this model is locked down for ISP use and cannot be update by the owner. Each respective company is pointing me to the other, meanwhile I cannot update to the latest firmware, nor update to DNS servers that are required for my internal applications to work most efficiently (simply using Google DNS 8.8.8.8). Very poor catch 22 by both companies. Please work with Time Warner to remove any Netgear from the approved "bring your own device" list that the owner cannot administer. Poor planning. TWC Internet compatible modems Netgear N450 CG3000Dv2 4 100Mbps https://www.timewarnercable.com/content/dam/residential/pdfs/support/internet/twc-compatible-modems.pdf If there is a way to unlock this modem, I would love to know. Even if it is a Command Line guide to make some simple changes and update firmware, that would make this modem useful and not a doorstop. Thanks in advance. I have the Netgear Nighthawk Model No. C7000 and the time is showing as 1 hour early. How do I change the time to the correct time? There is no option to change the time in Advanced -> Security -> Schedule (some people have said there is a time zone option there, but there is not).10KViews2likes6CommentsCan't write to HDD over Readyshare
I can't write to harddrives over Readyshare on my N450 modem/router. I've tried this with two different drives. When I try to write to it, it asks me to login and then says "The operation cannot be completed because you don't have the necessary permission." I'm on Mac OS X. I've tried my username/pass for both my computer and my router. The drive permissions in the Netgear Genie Software are set to all can read and write. The drive format is Mac OS X Extended. I've tried exFat and FAT as well, and I could only write to a FAT-formatted HDD. But that isn't useful for me because I want to the use Readyshare for TimeMachine, which requires OS X Extended. I've tried freshly formatted drives and freshly formatted partitions. I've tried setting the partitions as Shared drives and enabling anyone to read and write. I've tried disabling the firewall on my computer. Nothing has worked. I appreciate any suggestions, thank you.4.3KViews0likes2CommentsOnly one device has internet access -- minimal options in genie
I have a C3700-100NAS and ever since I got it, I have only been able to connect to the internet on one device at a time. Whichever is connected first gets internet access, but each computer/phone after that gets connected just fine but has no access to internet. This is true regardless of whether I use Wi-Fi or ethernet. When I troubleshoot the internet connection on those computers, it says the IP address was not configured properly. The default gateway IP for the first computer looks fine, but the default gateway for each one after that is a weird combination of numbers and symbols -- hence the IP address error I guess. It's strange that I can't ping the router though even though it says I'm connected. Also, the genie version I have seems to be lacking quite a few menus that I have seen online and in my model's user guide. I would like to try to update my router firmware or edit the router IP table, but there is no option to do that. The only three menus I get under ADVANCED --> Administration are "Gateway Status", "Router Mode", and "Event Log". "Router Mode" is completely useless because whenever I switch it to "Yes", it just switches back to "No" after rebooting. So that means the three actions I can take in genie are "Factory reset", "Reboot", and "Frequency start value". All seem completely useless for connecting more devices. Is there any way I can fix these issues, or will I be needing a replacement? It sounds as if something isn't right with my product, given how limited genie is for me.7KViews0likes4Commentsc7000 wireless 5G drop network

I have TimeWarnerCable and they just activated my self-purchased C3000 modem over the phone. I have my own router and want to use the C3000 as a modem only. I installed the VPN Passthru hotfix as mentioned in this thread: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Routers/N300-C3000-in-Bridge-Mode-with-TWC/td-p/974301 After clicking the Router = No radio box the modem becomes unreachable at 192.168.0.1 where it was reachable before switching to bridge mode. What IP is the C3000 now using after being switched to bridge mode? How do I reach the admin page?Solved7.7KViews0likes1Commentwhat to do when blocksites says *No space to add new keywords* ??
