change router to modem

I am receiving a "double NAT" error. I wish to change my router to be a modem only but cannot find instructions. The instructions posted on this website do not work. These instructions indicate there is a switch in Net Genie app. But this switch does not appear in the latest version of NetGenie that I just downloaded. Is there a way to match the cage to  modem only? Thank you.

Has your "my router" a maker and model number?

That's a router, not a modem+router.  Is that what you have?  To what
is it connected?  Is there some kind of modem involved?

Strictly speaking, you can'y change a router into a modem.  You can
usually change a modem+router into a modem.  In some cases, you can
    change a modem+router into a router.

There are many "instructions posted on this website".  The
non-psychics in your audience may not be able to guess what you've been
reading.  Or doing.  Or what happened when you did whatever you did.

Thanks for the response. I am receiving an error saying I have a "double NAT issue". After reading an article about double NAT, I thought I needed to change my router/modem to be a modem only. I did not realize that my device WNDR3700 was a router only. So that will not fix my issue. I will have to try something else. Thank you for the prompt response. It has helped me refocus my efforts.

As a start, you might try answering the pending questions about your
        equipment.  For example:
