amazon appears to be taking for dec19 shipment advanced orders for the docsis 3.1 cm1000 modem only. so is netgear going to tell us if this 1000 is broadcom only, or is this another cm 700 like intel puma mess :mansad:

If I recall when I looked at the open source firmware a month ago, the CM1000 has the drivers for a Broadcom chipset in the firmware.

  This is a user to user forum with a few volunteer moderators. There never really are any "official" Netgear tech folks on here.
  
  Go to the Netgear Open Source Code page I linked to in my earlier post. Download the file for the "CM1000-1CONAS." Extract the file and in it you will see "CM1000_RG_src.tar.gz"
  
  Then extract that file and you will see in it all you need to prove the CM1000 has a Broadcom chip in it; specifically the BCM93390, which was announced by Broadcom at CES 2015.
