CM1000 with Optimum (formerly Suddenlink) - intermittent outages

After working generally pretty well for over 2 years, we have recently been experiencing intermittent and repeated internet outages using Optimum (formerly Suddenlink). I am constantly resetting the CM1000 modem. There have been no reported outages in our area. Modem input connects directly to ISP coax and output goes to Cisco ethernet switch. This is not a wifi issue. We do not use Optimum (formerly Suddenlink) TV or VOIP services, just IP.

CM1000: Hardware Version 2.02

Firmware Version V3.01.06

CM certificate Installed

- no  amplifiers, signal attenuators, or splitters from the ISP supplied and installed RG6 coax. No kinks, damage, moisture in the line as it is all in conduit

- no shorts, bad components or corrosion

Optimum (formerly Suddenlink) won’t update firmware on this modem as it is customer owned.

When it works, we get great 400 Mbs service. Here is the event log. Is there a way to fix this to regain stable internet connection?.

  • Yes, working full speed----the question is: how long will that last?
