CM1150v plugged into wall phone outlet but no phones in house work

I noticed others have had this problem and i had the same issue - not being able to get the modem voice connections to work across house phone wiring

My house was wired as RJ11 - Single pair

i rewired the phone jacks as RJ14 2 pair

you could plug the modem into the house wiring and the phones would work.

I'm not sure how the 2 registered jacks on the back of the modem are wired ( manual states RJ11-  However it would only work if the house jacks are RJ14

if any one knows it would be appreciates in know exactly how the 2 registered jacks for on the back of the modem are configured it would be appreciated

If you connect a phone directly to the cm1150v, does it work?

yes? then you've got something wired wrong.

No? Then its not been enabled for your service and you'd want to contact the isp to get it provisioned.

Yes it was a wiring issue -

the house jacks were  configured as a RJ 11 ( 2 wires on position 3 and 4) of the wall jack  - it would not work

      When I rewired the wall jack to RJ 14 ( 4 wires on positions 2, 3, 4 and 5) -  it worked

i just brought this up because tech support stated this modem would not work with house / wall wiring -

It does-  its just the house wall  jacks had to be configured as RJ 14 - at least in my case anyway.

i was just wondering if any know what signals are actually be carried on the voice jack(s) on the back of the modem and the positions on the registered jack

Be sure you’re ISP supports this modem and phone services thru the modem. Not all ISPs supports this modem.
