CM1200 connection to PS4
Trying to connect ps4 directing to modem. It connects to route perfectly fine but would like to take advantage of hard lining straight to modem. Modem is the netgear nighthawk cable modem CM1200

who's your isp?
Most of the major isp's only allow 1 device to be connected to the modem because they only give each modem 1 public ip address (cox, xfinity, spectrum I know do this).
In those cases, the extra ports are fairly useless.
The CM modem is NOT a router. You need a wired or wireless router in between the modem and PS4.
