CM500 Constant red light

My Modem's power LED is a constant red, and is preventing me from connecting to the internet. Holding down the reset button does nothing, and after leaving it unplugged from power for a few minutes nothing changed. It was working perfectly fine three hours ago.

    Please share a picture of how it is placed. 

     

    Is the area very hot?

    Is this well ventilated? 

  • My router did the same.  When I unplugged power the red light stayed on.  So I unplugged the coaxial cable input the router.  The power light went out. When I plug power back in the power light was white and started booting up.  Plug the coax cable back in and everything was ok.  The reset button did work when the light was red.

      Correction to my previous post the reset button did NOT work when the power light was red.
