CM500V and Comcast Cable

Comcast only rates the CM500V at 373 Mbps, why? The Voice version is using a base firmware of V1.01.10 and the CM500 has a newer one V1.01.14. If I am not using the voice anymore, could the newer firmware be used and provide better speed? They upgraded the speed to 400Mbps, same plan, and I'd like to take advantage of it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went there first to see what they had to work with. I was referred to thie list which shows a limit of 373 Mbps for the cm500v and when I checked the cm500, it was the same. Why would there be such a dramatic difference in their implementation of the drivers for the modem and Netgear's advertised speeds with Netgear being an approved modem for Xfinity/Comcast?

The isp sets the service levels based on their own system and not what the modem is capable of.

Cox is notorious as they've increased to requiring docsis 3.1 for their 400mbps+ tiers. Even though docsis 3.0 modems are capable of hitting gig speeds.

        So its on the isp.
