CM600 firmware downgrade when switching ISPs?

I have a CM600 that I was using with Spectrum. As part of having their service, they obviously pushed a firmware update, which locked the modem into IPV6-only mode. My new ISP (WOW) does not support that, so their network can't detect my modem. Doing a 'factory reset' on the modem doesn't actually do anything to roll back the firmware. How can I go about fixing this? Right now my modem is essentially a useless brick, and Spectrum of course claims that it's not their fault that the "manufacturer's firmware update" caused it.

It doesn't appear there's a way for an end-user to update or reset the firmware, so I'm kind of at a loss here. And with Spectrum claiming no liability in the issue, I'm basically out of a cable modem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Cable Operators have strictly specified that once the MDD IP mode has been, it should be locked and cannot be modified by the end-user.this is requirement from ISPs vendors have to follow.

Hi vkdelta, thanks for the response! I realize that it's apparently standard for them to push the updates. My question is, how do I get my cable modem back in working conditions, so I can use it with my new ISP? After all, it's my cable modem, not the ISPs, and it isn't written anywhere that it's a single-use device that gets thrown away if you dare switch away from a service provider.. is it something Netgear can reset in the modem?
