CM600 replacement with CM1100 under Xfinity
I will be replacing my current CM600 running at 400Gbps on Xfinity's 800Gbps service with a CM1100 to get the full 800Gbps full bandwidth. It has been a long time since I installed the CM600 and my notes and memory are incomplete.
Will this replacement simply be a like-for-like with no need for Xfinity involvement? I HATE to get XF involved. It never goes smoothly. Or will XF need to initialize the modem from their end? If so, what is the best way to get this done?
xfinity does need to add it to their system but you can use their xfinity app to upgrade the modem. Pretty easy to do

- demonickAspirantThank you. Can I do it from a laptop on the Xfinity website? I must say, this is THE MOST responsive user forum I've ever participated in.

Sadly, no you can't. You used to be able to but Comcast pulled that functionality.
You could do it through xfinity's chat but installing the app to activate and then uninstalling it is still faster than dealing with xfinity
