Your cable-TV ISP may allow only a single MAC address at your end,
and switching from your (unspecified) "my router" to your (unspecified)
"a pc" might be enough to prevent your access. Ask your ISP?
General advice: Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model
number, and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look
for "Install and Activate Your Cable Modem".
- cjd0307Dec 01, 2018AspirantThe Comcast tech was here helping me troubleshoot when he was replacing all the lines coming to our house. He said since I owned the modem there’s not much else he can do. According to him i should have gotten an ip from the modem. Everything from their end says I should be getting full speed, but I’m only getting 1/5 of what I’m paying for. They think there’s something wrong with the modem. The no iping of the laptop seems like a symptom of whatever might be wrong.
