CM700 login failure

I've had this modem since 2022 and it seems that the ethernet port has failed. All was working this morning. I have always been able to log into the GUI but no longer. I moved the modem to a direct connection to my PC, nothing in between, no coax connected and the bottom Amber LED is solidly lit showing an ethernet device is connected, but I can't log in. Tried this with other PCs and my cell phone, but no joy. The power supply is good and I have done the factory reset to know avail. It does (seem to) connect to the internet, upstream and downstream LEDs light as usual just no data downstream to any ethernet connected device. My conclusion is the port has failed and the modem needs to be replaced. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Disconnect the ISP coax cable line from the modem.
Press the reset button for 10 seconds then release.

While you have one ethernet connected PC to the modem, give 2 minutes, then see if you can access the modems web page at 192.168.100.1.

If not, then probably needs replacing.

Appreciate the response!  I've tired (50+ years of troubleshooting!) all of what you have suggested, more than once, to no avail.  Last night I finally gave up and decided to post the relevant details and end result just to be sure I wasn't missing something. Thus, after an hour of the modem sitting (unplugged) I returned it to my telecom rack and re-connected to the router.  To my total surprise its working again, but I still don't what was wrong?  Temperature could have played a role but I doubt that, my rack is in an unconditioned basement.  I can only conclude the ISP (Comcast) failed (not the first time!)  despite what they said is working, or there may be an intermittent problem on the PCB.  This would not be the first time for (the latter) a board to partially fail... I spent 12 years as a production manager in telecom where I inspected incoming product from our assembler and sometimes I found SMT components poorly soldered to their pads.

For the moment, function has returned but why remains unanswered.
