CM700 Wont Reach Close To 1Gb Speed

I have a CM700 Modem that worked flawlessly with my 300Mb plan through Sparklight/Cable One.  I was actually getting about 350 Mb download speeds.  I changed my plan to the 1Gb service after about 5 months and now my speed tests range between 500-600 Mb download.  I have had my ISP send a tech out and they show everything is good on their end.  He took my modem out and put his in and it gave me better than 900Mb downloads.  I contacted Netgear support who said that I would need to purchase an additional warranty since it was past the tech support warranty period.  They told me I would need to have their tech program the modem to work with 1Gb service.  I have looked throughout the modem login page and dont see what settings if any can be changed.  What would need to be changed in the modem since I am under the understanding that you plug it in and it works regardless of the speed it is rated up to.  I am trying to get them to replace under hardware warranty since it seems to me that is the case.  My ISP has said this modem works on their network and they are currently using DOCSIS 3.0.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What speeds do you get hardwired into it?

What website/websites have you used for testing?

What device is the isp testing the speed with? its easy for them to say "sure, mine hits 1gig"

Do you have a screen snip of the cable connections page from the modem?

      - I get the same speeds hardwired directly into the modem as I do at my desktop, which is also hardwired through a router.  I have used two different computers hardwired into the modem directly as well and still get the same speeds between them.  ~500-600 Mbps.

      - I have used both speedtest.net and fast.com.

      - The ISP tech would do his thing and have me run the speed test on my desktop.  It hit >900 Mbps when he changed out my modem with his.

      - I will have to reconnect my modem to get a screen capture of the cable connections tab.  I got fed up with the slow speed and bought a netgear 1000.  I would love to be able to return this new one if the old would start working as it should.

You'll need to contact NG support and ask for additional help and information regarding the CM700. If you got a NG CM1000, then the 1000 would be the better modem.
