Compatibility between Netgear CM1100 and R8000P?

CM1100 modem is compatible to R8000P router. You need to install the CM1100 modem to setup internet from your cable provider. Once the internet is working, you need to reconfigure the R8000P to detect the new cable modem connection.

Unfortunately, that article does not address the Nighthawk X6S AC4000 (model R8000P). I have requested information about whether the CM1100 and the R8000P can work well together. I currently have 2 X6Ss and we are upgrading to 1GB service with a CM1100 cable modem. I would like any info anyone could share about if these will even work together, and if so, can anyone guess how well or if abutting surcharge will need to be done. Thanks in advance.
