Connecting a landline to my CM1200 router

Hello all,

I just purchased and set up a CM1200 modem and didn’t notice when I read the specs that it doesn’t support voice over IP. Since I run my business from home I this is something that is going to be an issue for me. Is there anything I can do other than get a different modem to rectify this, is there something I can purchase as an addition to make it work? I’m the first to admit that I have limited knowledge about this type of hardware so your help is appreciated.

Thanks

The CM1200 modem is just a modem only and supports VoIP thru phone or chat apps with use of a router.

If you have a phone service that needs RJ11 phone jack support, then you'll need a CM1150v which has actual phone support service and RJ11 phone jacks in back.

Would an analog telephone adaptor (ATA) work? I've been doing some research and from what I understand ATA's are made for situations like this to allow connection of phones. Thank you for your previous imput and any thoughts you have on this are appreciated!

      Cheers

Possible. I know we had a MajikJack for a while and it worked behind our host router. Adatpers connect to routers, not at the modem.
