Disabling this feature on my CAX80 lets the Garmin app pair successfully with my Venu3 watch.
WIth the Protection Engine on, the phone and watch are unable to pair. Disable Wi-Fi on the phone and the watch can instantly connect via Bluetooth. When connected, if you enable Wi-Fi the connection is instantly lost.
After I turned off Protection Engine, all of these funky connectivity issues vanish, and the watch and phone pair succesfully over Wi-Fi.

Its not something you have to have on but turning it off leaves you open to several security issues. (I've had it off and never had issues)
