Do CM400/CM500 support euroDOCSIS?
Hi all, reading the technical specs of the CM400 and CM500 Modems they do only support DOCSIS, not euroDOCSIS. But maybe they do support euroDOCSIS anyway? Does anyone know that or might even hav...

they dont support EUDocsis.
who is your ISP?
why do you want a retail modem? I thought german ISPs provide free modem already. Please let us know.

thanks for your quick respone.
My ISP is called "KMS München" --> www.kms.tv.
You are right, most cable ISPs provide free routers. But you don't get pure (bridge) modems or wifi routers for free. You can hire or buy wifi routers but modems are not available at all at them moment. The routers the ISPs provide are remote-configured so you cannot change any settings as well so you cannot get routers into bridge/modem mode to avoid double-NAT if you want to use an own router.
Since last summer there is a new law here wich forces all providers (DSL and cable) to allow customers to bring their own modem and configure them theirselves.
In my case I want to use the modem together with another router (without modem of course). Many people want that but at the moment there are no cable modems with 16x4 or 24x4 on the market in Germany while most providers require the own modems to be able to use at least 16 channels. Vodaphone, which is our biggest cable ISP in Germany has a detailed technical document with theirs specifications (in englisch) here.
BTW: The German word for not being allowed to bring your own modem is "Routerzwang". You will find a lot of forums where people are happy that the "Routerzwang" is forbidden now but are sad that there are still no modems available.

thanks for Info.
Does vodafone and unity Media provide free modems?
do they allow 3rd Party retail modems?
What modem does Vodafone and Unity Media provide?

Yes they provice a free basic router (no wifi). At the moment they have a promotion offer where they provide a wifi router for free.
Yes they allow thirdparty routers/modems if the router/modem satisfies the pNTP-Interface-Specification I posted above. There are many people in the German cable forums like https://www.kdgforum.de/ (KDG == Kabel Digital == Vodafone, they bought KDG some time ago and still have it as a brand) reporting that they go a thirdparty router up and running. As I said before: German law requires cable providers to allow thirdparty modems and routers since last summer.
Vodafone provides differenten types of (you don't know in advance): See https://kabel.vodafone.de/hilfe_und_service/geraete/wlan_kabelrouter for a list.
For Unitimedia I did not find such a List. But maybe you can have a look at their blog: https://blog.unitymedia.de/2016/07/11/freie-routerwahl-bei-unitymedia-kunden-fragen-unitymedia-antwortet/ --> You can use Google translate the translation seems quite good. The interface specification is mandatory by law as well: See here: https://www.unitymedia.de/privatkunden/beratung/info/schnittstellenbeschreibung/
