Ethernet Adapter Question

Can someone explain to me what this information means? I am trying to understand which of my devices is using the most data. I searched the ipconfig data and found this on the Ethernet Adapter data, underneath the subnet mask numbers is "Lease Obtained with a date of Wednesday, August 30, 2023 and Lease Expired Monday, September 4, 2023" What would this be for? Any assistance would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, but I am new to this, so I don't understand the reply. Is there reason for the leasing and how would I find out who is leasing? Thanks

To be able to communicate with others, an ethernet network adapter needs to get an IP address from somewhere. Your router acts as DHCP server and assigns IP addresses to everything connected to it. DHCP is dynamic which means, among others, an IP address is valid for a specific time. After that, it either needs to be renewed or dropped. Renewing happens at half-point so if the lease time is 1 day (24 hours), the renewel happens after 12 hours have passed.
