firmware update

received an email Oct 5th for important security update from NETGEAR and wanted to make sure it wasn't a scam.

 

I bought my router in 2012 and this is the first time I've heard from NETGEAT.  Please advise

    If its a email talking about updating your firmware and visiting Netgears support site then this is not a scam but if the email is asking for personal info do not use any links from that email and contact our support about it.
