In simple terms, how to change ip address?
ELI5, how would I go about changing my ip address on the c7000v2. I read somewhere it might not be possible on 2 in 1 systems. Is it through static ip changes? Thanks.

Changing your IP address on a C7000v2 router (a 2-in-1 system combining a modem and router) might not be as straightforward as on standalone routers. Typically, IP addresses are assigned dynamically by your internet service provider (ISP) through a protocol called DHCP. However, if you want to change your IP address, you can try a few methods. One option is to set up a static IP address on your device instead of relying on dynamic assignment. This involves manually configuring the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS servers. Another option is to release and renew your IP address lease, which can be done through the router's settings. However, it's worth noting that some ISPs may have restrictions or limitations on changing IP addresses, especially for residential customers. In such cases, contacting your ISP's support may be necessary to explore the available options.
