Intermittent internet connection on some devices
I couldn't find this exact problem after searching the community. I have a C7000 modem/router installed about 2 months ago. I have three devices hardwired to it, and run a wifi network for the rest o...

You can do the router side of the CAX80, the ISP, if they support it, may update the modem side as they would be responsible for the mode side.

How is the wifi configured on the modem?
What channels are being used?
What is the size of the home?
Any wifi features enabled or disabled on the modem? Like Smart Connect?

I have both a 2ghz and 5ghz WiFi set up. The house isn't very large. I have one computer which has this problem sitting next to another computer which does not have the problem. I would suspect the network adapter in the computer except that another computer in a different room is showing the same issue. No features turned on or off on the modem/router. Regular internet is through Spectrum, but I have a backup connection through Verizon Wireless running WiFi under a different name. If I switch to that WiFi, there is no problem. Again, Spectrum could find no issue on their side. It's just odd that this problem affects two computers but not the others. As I said before, rebooting the modem/router "fixes" the problem. The next time the problem occurs, I am going to try a reset of the network adapters
Thanks for responding

Be sure the wifi adapter card drivers are up to date as well.

This is a follow up request for help from a few weeks ago but with further info. I have a AC1900 (C7000) modem router, firmware V1.03.01 Installation was late December 2024. I have two hardwired devices, and run two (2ghz, 5ghz) wifi networks with 3 PCs and two phones connected. Periodically, I lose connectivity with the wireless network, but not the wired connections. My iPhone shows that it has switched to 5G from wifi. My desktops still show the "radar" symbol in the taskbar and it says "internet access".
On the desktops it appears there are some websites I can reach (but it's possible the browser is just reading a cache), but most say "connection unavailable". I honestly can't remember when I first noticed the problem, so can't swear it started at the time I installed the unit or at a later time
Rebooting the C7000 (power cycling by unplugging) fixes the problem. Also, using the front button of the C7000 to turn off the wifi radio and turning it back on also fixes the problem
The problem happens every couple of days. I contacted my internet ISP Spectrum, but they say every thing is OK on their side. I'm beginning to suspect a faulty modem/router. I have the CAX80 I removed to install the C7000, and I'm thinking about swapping it back to make sure the C7000 unit itself is the problem. I've been avoiding this just for the pain-the-butt factor.
Any thoughts on other troubleshooting steps I should take, or other possible causes beyond a bad modem/router??
Thanks in advance
Bob K.
