I just upgrade the internet speed from 100mps to 400mps through xfinity by promotion. Do I need to do anything on the wifi cable modem router in order to obtain that speed? When I do the speed test now, I don't see any difference after upgrade.

At the end, the problem is from Xfinity. They just didn't upgrade my account correctly. So after I called Xfinity, the speed is upgraded to around 400mps from their website speed test. I don't need to do anything at my end about the modem.

What router do you have?

What speeds do you get if you speedtest over a hardwired connection (not wireless)?

  I have Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi cable modem router model C7000v2. I still have around 100mps from speedtest through ethernet connection to my computer, instead of what the provider provides 400mps. Thanks.

    What computer is it?
    
    Does it have a gigabit ethernet port or only a 10/100mbps port?
    
    Have you tried a different device?
    
    Have you tried a factory reset and reinstall?
