IP Addressing

I have TWCable. I heard by changing the MAC address of the cable modem, it will force TWCable and/or any other internet providers to automatically change the IP address? If this is true, please provide step-by-step instructions to do so. If not, then is there any other solutions? Please advise. Thanks.

  • AFAIK, it's not possible to change the MAC address on a cable modem router.  ISPs usually link the MAC address to your customer account, so it would be unusual to have the ability to change it.
