Hi XXXXXX,
Thank you for choosing Suddenlink email support and granting me the opportunity to assist you today in regards to your internet service.
I do apologize for any issues you may be experiencing with your connection. However, we unfortunately do not handle the upgrading of the firmware of customer owned equipment, I apologize. We will not be held responsible for any problems that may occur when upgrading firmware to customer owned equipment, thus we do not do so. It would be up to the customer to get that done from the manufacture's site, if they have any available.
Thank you for choosing Suddenlink. If you have any further questions, you may contact us Monday - Friday 8am to 10pm or 9am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday via our online chat at http://www.suddenlink.com/contact-us/#tabs-3 or by phone at 1-888-822-5151. We are available to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by phone.

This posting is in regard to the Netgear C6300 (AC1750) combination cable modem and router:
https://www.netgear.com/support/product/C6300
This is my own personal equipment on Suddenlink's network.
It was recently discovered that there are some vulnerabilities in the firmware/software on this device (version 1.02.21)
Since this is a cable modem device (in addition to a router), I have been told that the firmware update is meant to come from the ISP (All other ISPs) via DOCSIS:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Cable-Modems-Routers/firmware-update-c6300-ac1750/td-p/1059268
My firmware version is: V1.02.21 and is not the latest version available. Furthermore, there are known exploits against this firmware version, per these articles:

The last link (the one on netgear.com) mentions the following:
NETGEAR has also released firmware that fixes the web password recovery vulnerability for the following cable modem router:
C6300
For cable products like the C6300, new firmware is released by your Internet service provider after NETGEAR releases it to them. The firmware fix for the C6300, firmware version 2.01.14, has been released to all service providers.
My question for Suddenlink is: When will your network be rolling out the firmware updates to 2.01.14 for my type of device, and how soon can I initiate this process? What actions are required on my end?
Thank you.Nice, TKS alot both Netgear & Suddenlink!!!!!

I am with cox they told me they cannot upgrade my modem. I do not know how we are able to update firmware when isp will not do it. I am also having problems with ethernet cable not downloading and uploading. cox said my modem shows critical for downloading and uploading.

I am having the exact same issue right now. Netgear told me I needed to have suddenlink update to v.2.01.18...
suddenlink representative said there was no way they could do this....
So frustrating.

I really think that this is a Netgear and Suddenlink issue that is affecting the consumer. So Netgear needs to contact Suddenlink and get this resolved. If not, I for one will not be a future Netgear customer. I'm stuck with Suddendeath, that what I call them from many experiences with them, since they are the sole high speed provider in my area but not with Netgear. We the consumers have options there. So Netgear please fix this issue!!!!!!!!!

Netgear provides the firmware to the ISP and then they have to make changes and certify the firmware. Then they release it when they feel its ready.

It's all fine and dandy DarrenM, but not when Netgear telephone support is telling you the reason your wifi is slow is because your firmware is outdated. I was literally told by a tech expert to tell my ISP to upgrade my firmware. They should already know this is not possible and therefore should not suggest it and waste consumers time.
