Thats not waht I was told. While holding in the rest button then power on ur router lights will blink. It worked for me. I did a lot of research on this problem. My router had a blinking greeen power light. This indicates a curupt firmware issue. I found a fix this is what I did.
change ipv4 ip use the following ip 192.168.1.2
download tftp2
Enter 198.162.1.1 for server
pasword for router =password
Browse to ur path where the firmware u want to use is located.
Click update.
I was able to do this and fix my wndr4500. Im I happy I had to do extra work to fix this not at all.

That's a different rest regime.
The tftp thing is also something else.
But, as I said, I find it hard to understand what the heck you are saying.
