Model D700 modem router I

Can some tel me if aModel D700 modem router Is it compatible to connect to a Neatgear CMT1000.0 cable modem 3.0

  • These two modem models are not comaptible. They are modems which get the internet services from ISP services. The D series is a DSL modem with a built in router and wifi. The CM is just a Cable modem only. IF your using the CM cable modem now, it's best to install a new external wifi router, something like NGs R or RAX series class router or NGs Orbi wifi mesh system.

    Good luck.

What are the _actual _model numbers?  Look for "Model" on the product
    labels.

I'd expect it to be possible to use a D7000[vX] as a router with any
ordinary cable modem.  In the D7000[v1] User Manual, for example, look
for "Set Up the Modem Router for Cable or Fiber Service".

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.

Sorry the cable modem  is a NETGEAR model CM1000v2 and the router is a nighthawk 1900 model D7000. Cant get the modem to talk to the router. I tried everything and can't get the signal to the router. Thanks for the info but still have the same issue. Any more ideas please let me know.

        > [...] model D7000 [...]

           That's a plain D7000 (D7000[v1]), not a D7000v2?

        > [...] Cant get the modem to talk to the router. [...]

"Can[']t" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
        descriptions or interpretations.

        > [...] I tried everything [...]

Think, for a moment, about how little useful information that
non-description conveys to the non-psychics in your audience.  If you
did actually try "everything", then there's nothing left to do, so the
        situation is hopeless.

If you connect a computer to the CM1000v2, as described in its User
Manual ("Install and activate your Cable Modem"), does _that_ work?

In the D7000 User Manual, look for the LED descriptions and
        "Troubleshoot".

Did the "everything" which you "tried" include a settings reset of
the D7000?  Look for "Factory Settings" in its User Manual.
