modem setting keep changing back to default

Question

I'm stumped at why my modem keep dumping saved passwords and wifi settings. It hasn't happened for a while, but it happened again this morning. I updated the firmware, reset everything and all seemed to be good. 2 hours later, same thing - no wifi or internet connection. I reset the modem, and all the passwords and wifi passphrases went back to default settings. Not sure why this is happening unless the modem itself is starting to fail.

Hello gosupes

When you say reset did you use the reset button if so that will cause that to happen. Or did you just unplug the device and plug it back in? that shouldn't cause the device to lose the settings.
