My CAX80 keeps losing its settings when power is cycled...

My CAX80 keeps losing its settings when power is cycled. I searched the internet for solutions, and it looks like this has been a problem with Netgear products for many years, so I don't have a lot of confidence that this post will do any good.

My CAX80 is running the latest firmware, so if anyone has a eureka moment and tries to suggest updating the firmware, it's not going to work.

Restoring the settings from a saved configuration doesn't work either. In fact, it will crash a device that is actually working properly. Internet searches also show that this is a long-standing problem.

For others who are suffering these problems, and for prospective Netgear purchasers, whatever you do, don't buy Netgear products. These issues will leave you many miles from home without RDP access and with an unsecured wifi router...

What version of FW is on the gateway?

Have you made a back up configuration to file after the gateway has been set up?

Which ISP is the gateway connected with?

How long have you had this CAX80?

How long has it been having these problems?

        ...two years...

Sounds like you have failed hardware (likely the flash memory in the gateway).

I do not see mention of doing a Factory Reset in the discussion.
