N450 general setup for average home user...CG300Dv2...improvements?

Hi - I looked at some of the other posts but I have a very simple question.  Converted to Win 10 and added Roku a bit ago. I seem to notice that my wireless speeds are varying a lot more than I've ever noticed. Roku gets "no signal" a couple times and hour, and speedtest.net was showing 12 Mpbs download over the weekend several times - about the same as upload speed!  My wired connecton speed is great - over 200 Mbps download (paying Comast for 100 Mbps) so was thinking something about the N450 CG300Dv2 settings or firmware...  This website says I have the latest firmware for Comacast (V3.01.14) so can't update that.  I have the device set to Channel 11 (is there a 'better' one?), Security WPA2-PSK, mode: "up to 217 Mbps").   Just wondered if there were any suggestions about my issues. The Roku interruptions aren't popular with the Missus....know what I mean? Thanks for any help.  I tried calling Netgear today - on hold 15 min and then endless ringing..  DT

    Hello Dtaylor999

Have you tried changing wireless channels in the wireless settings?

Hi - thanks.... No, haven't changed channels... I had in my notes from the long past that channel 11 was a good one for home use but I'm happy to try changing, let me know if you have any suggestions. I was messing around with logging on to the router - if I was reading it right there was only one Wifi network on channel 11 - maybe it always says that!    Roku support (regarding the intermittent 'no signal') isn't of much help - they want me to replace cables (again)....   DT

        Hello dtaylor999

you may want to get the wifi analytics app on your phone it can scan your environment and tell you what the least crowded channel is.
