N450/CG3000Dv2 WiFi drop and Interface Lockup
I have a N450/CG3000Dv2 modem router to access Cable Internet. The installed Firmware is 3.01.06. My Internet provider is COX.
When I got this unit, I set up everything up using the browser based admin interface. I set up a Wifi network with a custom password and set up a DMZ machine. This setup works great and has since I got the unit in October of 2014.
I would like to change the DMZ machine to point to a different address.
When I try to login to the browser based administrator from a Windows 10 machine, all computers on the network lose their Internet Connection. This includes both hard wired connections and wifi connections. The lights on the modem do not change during this time, however I'm unable to connect any machines to the Internet until I unplug the router and plug it back in. I've tried a few other options like 'ipconfig /reset | ipconfig/release | ipconfig /renew' but they time out.
I am able to login using the Netgear Genie Windows program, but that just shows me simple settings with no way to change the DMZ.
I do seem to be able to login to the administrator through the browser on my Android phone, but the screens are too small to be editable.
I'm at a loss as to why this would happen, and searching has not brought up any useful information.
If it matters, I'm pretty sure that during the initial setup I changed my own custom administrator password. But, today I'm only able to login using the default password. I assume the password was reset at some point by my Internet Service Provider when they did mainteninace on the unit.
Anyone have any ideas?

One more thing I just noticed that is worthy of note.
I'm able to login without problems on my wife's computer which is connected via WIFI.
I only seem to be having the "drop all computers" problem if the machine trying to login has a hard wired connection to the modem.

Have you updated the network drivers on that PC?

Two separate machines exhibit the behavior.
One is a SurfaceBook and that is kept up to date via the normal Windows Update Process. I have updated the SurfaceDock firmware within the past few months.
The other machine is an older desktop. I haven't explicitly upgraded the network driver.
But, both of these machines that exhibit this behavior are hard wired to the router.
That said, It does not make sense to me why network drivers would be causing this behavior. For example, if I log into the router from my SurfaceBook, why would it cause the laptop in the other room, or my phone, or my Roku, to lose their Internet connection?

Hi,
I have the same exact router, with the same exact firmware, and the same exact problem.
I haven't yet tried a factory reset of the router (because I'll have to recreate all my settings). Perhaps that'll be a project for this weekend. I'll post results.
In the meantime, I'll keep an eye on this thread.
