Do you have another device that connects via ethernet that you can try and test it with?

Yes, I tested it with a laptop. I got the same error message. I reset the router, and still no communication with the PC or the laptop.

Have you done a full factory reset on the unit? if so you may want to contact support if the modem is under warranty.
