Netgear C3700 - 2.4GH password not recognized

Hello,

I have a Netgear c3700 router which will randomly disconnects devices connected to the 2.4GH wireless band.  The 5G wireless band and connected devices are not (never) impacted by this problem.  I am using the defualt password provided by the manufacturer.  I have multiple device types, smart phones, alexa, laptops etc. which can only connect to the 2.4GH wireless band, and they will all randomly disconnect. When I try to connect manually from one of the devices (it still shows as an available active network band) I will get a invalid password message.  Rebooting the router is the only way to correct. After a reboot all devices (with saved passwords) reconnect and work until the intermittent issue occurs again.

Any suggestions for this issue?

Appreciate your time and suggestions.

any special characters in the ssid/password? If so remove them.

I'd also try changing what channel the C3700 is on for 2.4ghz. It suffers from interference because of the limited channels available.

I'd also try a simply factory reset and reinstall. Sometimes this helps with issues like that.

No there arent any special characters within the password.  I was thinking about changing the channel, but wasntsure what to change the channel to, do you have any suggestions for this configuration? Also I can certainly attempt a factory reset of the router, what impact would this have? I hadnt logged into the router in the past t0 make any changes so wouldnt lose any special settings, would endpoints re-connect automatically once the device is back online, or are there further steps required to get the device into working order?  T

      hanks again.

Yes, if you reset and setup from scratch and use same SSID name and PW, devices will reconnect.
