Netgear C6300 Wireless Gateway Firmware Update

My Netgear C6300 Wireless Gateway Modem is stuck on old firmware (version 2.01.08) and I can’t get an update from Comcast. They claim that they can’t do it, but Netgear says that I can’t manually update it myself and that I have to have my ISP do it. What the deuce? How can I get this thing updated to V2.01.26?

    are you on Comcast ISP? If yes, a reboot should upgrade the device.

     

    If not, try factory reset.

     

    Comcast pushes new FW upon bootup and sync to their network.
