Netgear c7000

Question

Hi! Im getting only 90 Mbps speeds on my Netgear C7000 modem and router. My internet service allows speeds upto 400 Mbps. Is there anyway I can get higher speeds?&nbsp;Thanks,Rajesh.

Are you saying that you have a C7000 in front of another router?

Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. "Stacked" routers can also cause the slowdown that you see.

Yes, the C7000 is a modem and router combined in one device. I don't have any other router attached to it.

I should have said how are you measuring the speed.

Is this a PC wired into the modem/router? Something else?

I ask because some older devices have LAN hardware that can only work at 100 Mbps. Newer devices can handle 1000 Mbps.

A device with hardware stuck on 100 Mbps will never get faster than that even if it has an Internet service that claims to deliver a&nbsp; gazillion bps. You can see why I ask about this given that you get 90 Mbps. This is exactly the speed I would expect for 100 Mbps LAN.

The cables you use can also affect the speeds you get. Try something else.
