Netgear C7000v2 Firmware V.1.03.03 2.4G wifi problem

I have AC1900 C7000V2 Modem Router connected to Xfinity. The firmware is V.1.03.03.

About a month ago, the 2.4Ghz-wifi connection started being unstable while the 5GHz is working fine. Most of the time the 2.4Ghz connection is very low speed, and sometimes I can't even see it on my phone while sitting right next to the router.

Restarting the router seems to temporarily bring it back, but only for a few minutes.

Do you have any suggessions?

  • Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed?

Power OFF the modem fully for 1 minute then back ON?

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

I have not done a factory reset and setup from scratch. Not sure how to do that. Do you think you could walk me through the steps?

I have powered off for over one minute several times.

I am on channel 11 (auto). There are 18 others that I can see, mostly on chanels 1, 6 and 9. There is one other wifi on channel 11. Switched to channel 11 manual. Will see how that goes, thanks.
