Netgear CM 500 slow speed
I have a Netgear CM 500 modem with a TP-Link AC1200 modem. Both are "Certified" by Xfinity. My service is 400 mbps from XFinity. I can only get 65 mbps wireless. With a direct ethernet connection to the Netgear CM500 router I get 95 mbps. I am in a condo complex with a main line feed and nobody else has this problem. I tried connecting my PC directly to the Netgear CM 500 which I assume you should be able to do and this doesn't work. No connection. With the router connected I can get wireless and ethernet from it but not directly to the CM 500. Are there any configuration tweaks I can do. The TP-Link and my PC each have 802.11ac capabilities.

The CM500 is just a modem only. No router built in here.
Please post a copy and paste of the modems connection status and event log page.

Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem. Be sure the ISP provisions the modem correctly.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
Start with removing any amplifiers, signal attenuators, or splitters from the coax.
From there check the line for kinks, damage, moisture in the line.
Check the connectors for improperly made ends, foil touching the copper coax line, loose connections, bad/old/cheap connectors, or corroded connections. Replace them if you do.
Be sure to power OFF the modem for 1 minute then back ON.

What specific tplink router is it? AC1200 is a speed and not a model. And many lower spec routers tend to not have gigabit.
Also, what computer are you testing on? have you checked your wired link speed to see if its connecting at gigabit speeds.
Make sure you're using a high quality cat 5e or at least cat 6 cable.
