Netgear CM1000 can not connect to new router
Hi there, I have a CM10001AZNAS Cable Modem that current connects to a Netgear Nighthawk R7900P WiFi Router. However, I'm thinking of upgrading to a TP-Link Tri-Band AX11000 WiFi-6 Router. I followed the instructions and just turn both cable modem and the router (R7900P) off, then swap the R7900P with the new TP-Link AX11000 router. However, somehow I was not getting any internet connection from the new AX11000 router after I did the swap. Do I have to do a factory reset for my CM1000 Cable Modem? What steps did I miss? Thanks!

You shouldn't need to.
I usually just power off the modem for 2 minutes (sometimes disconnecting the coax cable helps).
Then I connect the modem, power it on, give it 2 minutes.
then I connect the router and power it on.
If it doesn't work, try doing it but connect a pc/laptop to the modem directly and see if it works.
If it does, it might be the setup for the tp-link causing issues.
