NETGEAR Nighthawk Cable Modem CM1200

Just replaced my  Motorola MB8600 Cable Modem with this one. The Motorola was rated up to 1gps. The new Netgear CM1200 is rated up to 2gps.

I have Xfinity Gig +

Had Xfinity technician at the house yesterday.  Been only getting about 600mb downloads speeds. Should be getting  about 1,200mb's.  So only about half of what my provider is offering.

The Cable guy was out for about 2 hours. Replaced lines, checked all connections, signals. All good on his end.

So nothing was solved. So here I am to see if I can find a solution.  What am I missing, what seems to be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year!

Thank you.

Pictured is last test I took, just after typing this post.

The CM modems ports are only rated at 1Gb per port. You not see much over 900Mpbs.

You can enable LAG on the Modem however you'll need to have a router or PC that can also do LAG then you might see over 1Gb if you can sataurate both ports when LAG is enabled.

Review the user manual for information about LAG.

I read this modem was rated up to 2gps.

What model do you recommend then?

      Now about the LAG. ....

Attached is a screenshot of my router. Will this have LAG capability?

        Rated if LAG is enabled.

WIth out LAG, the CM2000 series as a 2.5Gb WAN port.

Something to ask the mfr of that router about and review there support documentation about. It does have a 2.5Gb port so might be better suited for a CM2000 series modem.
