But sometimes when it seems to take too long, I just unplug and replug the router.

Same thing happens to me about 1 x week. I have an Amazon Echo (Alexa) connected on WIFI. It will usually say: I am having problems connecting to Internet. Check help". I then notice my primary 2G SSID is not found. (I also have a Netgear S8000 Extender and have 4 SSID's: 2G + 2GEXT / 5G + 5GEXT). First I go through motions of setting up Alexa again...trying to reconnect to WIFI... no success. Usually wind up rebooting modem. I have noticed a Modem LOG item logged about same time Wifi dropped: "Starting Unicase Maintenance Ranging - No Response Received - T3 timeout". Could it be an ISP (Comcast) issue?

Hello sfdurango
typically many T4 timeouts and T3 timeouts are related to a connection issue with the ISP. I would check if you have a splitter on your cable line connected to the modem try removing that. And you may need to have your ISP send a tech out.
