Nighthawk AC1900 R7000 Questions

I have a question:

My wife bought me a AC1900 Smart router (DOCSIS3.0) because it is compatible with Xfinity. I told her I may have a problem because I have the AC5300 router.  Can the two be used at the same time, one as a cable modem (AC 1900) and the Nighthawk 5300 as the router without any problems?

Slightly confusing model numbers there. "AC" is usually a wifi speed thingy rather than a model number.

Netgear makes a bunch of AC1900 boxes.DOCSIS suggests a modem, possibly the C7000

Your AC5300 is probably the R8500, but that is just a guess.

Sorry, you are right.  The C7000 is the cable modem/router and the R8500 is my router.  CAn I use both even though the AC 1900 (R7000) is a cable modem/router?  Would it be an issue having two modems in the home network or should it work fine?

Yes you can I would suggest to make the C7000 in modem only mode so routing conflicts do not happen.
