Nighthawk C7000v2 connectivity issues

Good day.

 

Just purchased a new Nighthawk cable modem/router combo.  works great when connected, but am having a sporadic issue where it will drop the internet connection.  tested with the ISP provided, and it is definitely the Nighthawk.  For the most part, when I reset the router, everything is fine.  

 

The second part of the issue is that I am unable to log in to routerlogin.net or com, or even the modem's web address.  it asks for the username and password, and then the internet browser will just cycle after I enter those.  I am able to access the Genie app, however.

 

Any help is appreciated.

    I would start with a factory reset and reinstall. 

    I'd also try a different browser or even pc when access it to see if that helps.

    when you're able to log in through the browser, get a screen snip of the modem cable connection page and the logs. 

    If you have any splitters, attenuators, or amplifiers in line, I'd remove them.
