Nighthawk CAX80 won't save configuration data.

I purchased a Nighthawk CAX80 cable modem/router a little over 2 months ago. 

Netgear support is absolutely useless. The CAX80 will not save the configuration data.

I cannot change the ipaddress for the LAN because when I reboot it doesn't save the configurations. 

Supports answer was "Its a cable modem and you can't change the ipaddress".  My answer "it doesn't save any configuration data. 

After a month of wasted time, they agreed they needed to replace the CAX80. Now comes another month of support asking the same questions over and over. Try this try that. I tell them just replace it like was promised. Supports answer "I not authorized to do that." (I didn't mistype that either) Still waiting for replacement but keep getting emails asking me to send them a date and time I'm available to talk about it. No response on the dates and times I send them. 

Every time this ##CAX80Nighthawk reboots I have to reconfigure it. The app makes it harder to do, so I uninstalled it.

Anyone else having this type of problem?
